He isn't surprised to see her home, but even after she gestures at him to keep listening, he goes into the other room and turns the volume down so he can at least have a conversation with her when she comes back downstairs. He doesn't often have the opportunity to listen to his music this loud, but there will be other chances. At least until the baby is born. Then he's going to have to be very careful about what he plays and how loud.

"Hey," he says when she comes back downstairs, giving her a wave with his good hand. "Sorry, I just thought I would take advantage of being on my own to listen to my loud, obnoxious music for a little while. I stayed home from work today. Spencer still isn't letting me work full days, so I put in some time with the nursery."
