just_another: (idiots redux)

"They probably won't be too happy with me if they come to take this down and it smells like sweat and sex," Joel teases with a grin, but his arm is looping around Spencer and he really doesn't care one way or another if the people who take the castle back are happy with him or not. He'll pay an extra damage deposit if they want him to, so long as he gets to see Spencer smiling on his birthday.

They're both sweaty and with anyone else, he thinks he would be uncomfortable in such a situation, but with Spencer all he wants to do is slide his hands under his husband's clothes and peel them off bit by bit. They're alone in the house now, which is actually quite nice, although he'd enjoyed having Raleigh living with them, too. It's just different, nothing he's ever experienced before. He'd been on his own for such a long time and then when he had moved into Spencer's, Raleigh had already been here. Now it's truly just the two of them, with the exception of Balto and Huxley, and while the puppy still takes a fair bit of attention, the cat more than takes care of herself.

And while this will change soon, too, while in the next few months a baby will join them and change the dynamic all over again, Joel is enjoying this for what it is while it lasts. Just the two of them in their back yard. It's perhaps a little more public a place than they usually find themselves kissing, but it's private enough and Joel slips his fingers under the hem of Spencer's shirt, tracing against the warm, damp skin of his lower back with slow, gentle movements.

This is the only place in the world he wants to be. He always feels this way with Spencer, it's hardly a surprise, but he loves that feeling. A sense of belonging in a way he'd never had until Spencer, a place for him to call home no matter where they are. His arms tighten around his husband and he sighs contentedly against his mouth, dragging him closer, pulling their bodies right up against each other.
