Neither of them need the words to be spoken aloud to know what the other is thinking. They're nearly always on the same page, wanting the same things and sharing the same values, and it's why Spencer knows for sure that he can say absolutely anything without fear of Joel's judgment. There are very few people in this town who've heard the truth about what had happened to his family on this day directly from him--the police had been first, of course, and most of them hadn't believed him. He'd told Raleigh about it, too, when she'd stopped by after what had happened in the lighthouse. They'd stood out in the backyard, and he'd admitted it for the very first time to someone he considered a friend. A large part of him believes now that he'd done it then because he'd been so terrified that he'd lost Joel already that there'd be nobody else, no one person that he could ever truly trust, and he'd needed to tell someone who'd cared.

He should have known all along that Joel would come back to him. Two people don't share a connection like they do and stay parted for long, at least Spencer can't imagine that's a possibility. He would never be able to live without Joel now, not voluntarily, and it is absolutely his intention that they will share a long, happy life together until they're very old and grey but even in the worst cases of scenarios, Spencer knows his heart could never find room for another love like this. It's once-in-a-lifetime, what he and Joel have, and he cherishes that every single day. When they're eighty, they're still going to be falling asleep in each other's arms, one of them with a book in his hands that he'll read to the other, and they'll spend many days reminiscing about the lifetime they've shared.

It's enough to bring him close to tears, knowing this about the man beneath him who's murmuring things that are somehow sexy and beautiful all at once because Spencer knows that his husband doesn't necessarily find this easy; but when Joel tries, it means the world. They do this for each other, provide the courage and the strength and the desire to cross lines they never would have thought they'd cross. Spencer has certainly never imagined he'd happily spread his legs and bend over to enjoy the feel of a tongue pushing inside him, he'd never thought he'd say things so thrillingly dirty that it could get someone hard almost instantly, and never once had he pictured himself being fucked against a bookshelf while in a woman's body.

"We really ought to get that bed in the back room," he teases, slowly inching his way further down the length of Joel's body. "That way, we only have to make it home for a second round." He brushes his lips over Joel's, smiling softly as he leaves a trail of kisses over his husband's cheek, down his jawline and over his Adam's apple until he's reached his chest. With one hand still rubbing against the outline of Joel's cock, Spencer moans with need, with a desire that he's only ever felt for this man, and he nips lightly at Joel's collarbone before glancing up with an impish grin. "If I didn't want you to fuck me so badly, I'd do everything in my power to make you come right now."

He's well practiced in getting Joel's jeans undone by now, and he only manages to tug them halfway to his husband's knees before he lets out a ragged groan and leans down push his tongue below the waistband of Joel's briefs.
