Joel actually feels a little guilty about having punched Coop in the face.
He's still fairly certain his friend deserved it, given everything he'd been saying and doing, but Joel also knows that wasn't really Coop. He would never treat either Joel or Spencer like that, and he knows his friend would never touch someone who wasn't clearly interested, so as much as he feels he was within his rights at the time, the sight of the bruise on Coop's face makes him feel awful. He hadn't been punching Coop. Prince Joel had been punching Shea and he thinks it's a significant difference.
"Just tell me it doesn't really hurt anymore," Joel says, holding his hand out toward Coop to display the fading bruises on his knuckles. "Mine feels better, but if your face still hurts I can get you something for it." He already has it ready and waiting, a little purple potion in his pocket made specifically for Coop.
