Joel doesn't know the man and for a second he panics, suddenly worried they've made a huge mistake taking the enchantments off the house. But he's here with a child and a gift, so while Joel doesn't recognize him, he has to remind himself that Spencer might.

Barring that, he's fairly certain his mother had invited nearly everyone in town, so it shouldn't come as a surprise if he doesn't recognize anyone.

"Hi," he says with a small smile. "I'm Joel. I'm... one of the fathers."
