The kiss surprises Joel, but in a good way and he smiles down at Aoife, his cheeks slightly pink. "Oh, uh, good. We survived being turned into fairy tales, which is more than I guess everyone can say."

He's thinking of Coop, of how awful he knows his friend must be feeling. At least Joel's biggest problem was that he was a prince and he wanted to be with a merman.

"Spencer was turned into a merman," he says, then grins. "It's quite funny to think about it now."
