"Gee, thanks," Joel says with a surprised laugh, passing his free hand over his face. He hadn't thought he looked that bad, but he hasn't shaved since the day before Dane was born and he can feel the hair creeping up his cheeks. His beard probably looks a little ragged and he hasn't been sleeping a lot, but he figures he's dressed in clean clothes, which is more than he expected of himself at this point.

"But yeah, it's good," he says. "We wanted people to meet him. This is Dane."
