"It's no trouble; I wanted t'do it," Davin says to Joel as he steps through the door. He's nervous, just because he isn't quite sure where they all stand after everything that happened. He still feels a little guilty, and a little like it was all his fault. And he hasn't really heard from Spencer, and while the rational part of his brain was sure that it was just them being busy, preparing for the baby, but the darker, meaner part of subconscious wondered if maybe it wasn't something else.

So it's with obvious relief that he smiles when Spencer greets him so warmly, and a little of the tension goes out of him when Spencer reaches out to touch his arm. He still looks tired and washed out, but his answering smile is wide and genuine.

"It's good to see ya too," Davin says sincerely, briefly touching Spencer's wrist before he pulls his hand away. He laughs and looks between the two of them. "The two o' ya have always been unbearable, so I think I'll be okay."

He gives them a teasing wink, and then his expression softens into something nearing reverence as he cautiously approaches the tiny bundle in Joel's arms. Davin never had any siblings, and he has very little experience with kids, let alone infants. The baby is so incredibly tiny, all wrinkled and pink, and Davin lowers his head a bit to get a better look.

"Hello Dane," he says quietly, feeling his heart grow just from looking at him. He lifts his hand and lets it hover a few inches shy of the baby's head. "Can I touch his hair?"

He wrinkles his nose and laughs a little. "Sorry, I just have no idea what I'm doin'. But he's really beautiful. An' so small."

His fingers itch to touch and he feels emotional, looking from Joel to Spencer and back with a big grin before he looks down at the baby again, resting the pads of his fingers against Joel's forearm until he gets permission.
