Joel has passed Dane off to Spencer when he hears the knock and it takes him a moment to tear himself away from his husband and baby, but eventually he manages it. It's just that they look so sweet, Dane sleeping on Spencer's arm, his tiny lips pursed slightly. He had been eight when Charlotte was born and he remembers how small she'd been, how tiny and delicate, but it's different.
