"If that's what you want to hear when someone challenges you, that's what you'll hear," Joel says, unwilling and too drunk to argue with it right now. He's far from the type of man who goes looking for a conflict, but Joel knows disagreements happen and they don't always need to mean a real conflict. His eyes close and he shakes his head. "People can like you without agreeing with everything you say. That's how friendships work."
